WHO'S THE NEXT BIG "STREAMING SHOW" SUPERHERO?
Donny & Ryan call the next Disney+ sensations!
Donny Cates: Hey everybody. I got a mouthful of candy. My name is Donny Cates. This is Ryan Stegman. We're here to talk to you about Peacemaker, but really, the bigger question at large here being: What other characters, who are kind of small and niche, could thrive with their own spotlight premium TV show? The way that Peacemaker has. Ryan said that he might have an answer already. Ryan, what do you have?
Ryan Stegman: I think that a J. Jonah Jameson series would be great, with J.K. Simmons in the lead. Well, I guess it could be about the whole Bugle, because you could have Betty Brant and all these characters that work there going around and reporting on the superhero activity in the city.
Donny: We had that comic, it was called Front Line, right? It was Jessica Jones. Either it was a spin-off of Alias at the beginning or she joined it later, but it was called Front Line and for a while every Marvel event would have a Front Line book that was attached to it where it was just that, like, reporters going into Civil War or Fear Itself or Secret Invasion. But that'd be great. That's a good idea. They're making that Groot show, right? I'm gonna cast my vote in here, not shockingly, for a Throg show. Or you know what? Fuck it. I would say make Throg your kind of Groot-like sidekick of a Beta Ray Bill show. That's what I would watch.
Ryan: Oh my god, a Beta Ray Bill show would be amazing.
Donny: You'd have to get like, James Wan or like one of the Fast and Furious guys to come in and just go fucking apeshit with the action, you know. Just make him like, more brutal and get away with, like, more violence than like proper Chris Hemsworth Thor could, you know? And just watch this old war horse just go across the galaxy just beating the fuck out of everybody, it'd be awesome.
Ryan: Yeah, that's a great idea. I'm on board.
Donny: Yeah. Alright, that's been us. And that's been that. Bye!
Kids Love Chains. And we love you.
