The “Mr. Sandman” song but Sandman replaced with Stegman. Is that anything?
Hey there! It’s your local dreamboats the Supple Boiz, and we’re back for your weekly recap! Another week of great KLC Press content has passed once again! If you missed any of the action, take a look at klcpress.com and check out the past week’s newsletters to catch up! Let’s look back at the week:
We kicked off with some wise teachings from the esteemed Ryan Stegman, as on Monday we dropped a new edition of his art instructional video series STEGMAN SPEAKS! In this series, Stegman takes your art questions from social media, and drops educational videos that show his process as he answers those questions! In this fourth installment, Ryan takes another question from his apprentice TheArtJedi on Twitter, and walks us through his methods of thumbnailing, planning, and pacing his pages! Make sure to submit your art questions for Ryan on social media with the hashtag #STEGMANSPEAKS, and it’ll likely be the subject of an upcoming video! But make sure that you only do that if you want to feel like you’re sitting in on Professor Stegman’s class at Genius University and it’s the best class you’ve ever taken and the professor is dreamy.
In other news of the week, Supple Boi Griffin shaved his head, and the reviews are largely positive! Drop a comment down below if you want the rest of the KLC Press crew to shave their heads and everyone but Ethan will do it!
We wrapped up the week with one of our famous LIVESTREAMS where you, the wonderful KLC Press community, join Ryan Stegman and the Supples onscreen to hang out while Stegman whips up a beautiful sketch which is then raffled off to one lucky subscriber! This time, Ryan illustrated a a haunting Sandman sketch while the Chain Gang chatted about all things from Ms. Marvel to Austin Powers. Check out the stream, the sketch, and its winner below!
Every day is JACK KIRBY day… we love the man here at KLC Press and are reminded on a daily basis just how much impact he’s had on our careers and lives in general. Jack not only created or co-created the vast majority of the core Marvel Universe, but also many characters and concepts that pushed DC into more thought provoking territory. If he hadn’t picked up a pencil back in the day the entertainment industry as we know it would be VASTLY different (lookin’ at you, Marvel Studios). And that’s definitely not an understatement. So for your viewing pleasure, check out Jack Kirby: Story Teller for a look at the life and career of the legendary creator.
That’s about it! Thanks for joining us for another great week, and we’ll see you back here next week for more Professor Stegman.
But in the meantime…
