Hey there! It’s your tired friends the Supple Boiz, and we’re back for your weekly recap! Another week of great KLC Press content has passed once again! If you missed any of the action, take a look at klcpress.com and check out the past week’s newsletters to catch up! Let’s look back at the week:
We kicked off this week with another big ol’ ART DROP, specifically a post featuring a lot of the incredible work that Mr. Ryan Stegman has been pumping out over the last few weeks. Within you’ll find gorgeous cover pieces for various series such as Spider-Man 2099: Exodus, Wolverine, and Sabretooth! It’s all very good stuff. I’m tellin’ ya, this Stegman kid’s got the chops. Somebody throw a few bucks his way, he’s currently living off of eating his own drawings after he finishes them. We believe he’ll hit the big time any day now.
Next we dropped another special, abridged presentation of the fifth chapter in a series of past livestreams on Stegman’s YouTube channel, in which Ryan and Donny created a new superhero universe LIVE! The concept they created is called BAD KIDZ, and you may find that some bits and pieces from this creation also made their way into an upcoming little book called VANISH! This series of streams, presenting the entire comic book creation process from the very beginning, is a precursor to what we’re doing here at KLC Press, so we are delighted to bring you the highlights from how it all got started! This time, the boys create a new superhero with an interesting twist on the “double life” concept! Much like how the Supple Boiz lead an exotic nightlife no one knows about.
We finished off the week with one of our famous LIVESTREAMS where you, the wonderful KLC Press community, join Ryan Stegman and the Supples onscreen to hang out while Stegman whips up a beautiful sketch which is then raffled off to one lucky subscriber! We were joined by the lovely Shawn Crystal of INKPULP fame to talk comics education while Ryan worked up a beautiful DOCTOR STRANGE sketch! Check out the stream, sketch, and its winner below!
It’s FINAL ORDER CUTOFF TIME! That’s right… the latest issue of CROSSOVER (#13) is at the printer, and waiting for YOU to pre-order at your local comic shop! Cutoff is this MONDAY, April 18. What does that mean exactly? Comics are expensive to produce… so we have to base the print run on how many copies are ordered from comic shops. Back yo boys up by heading down to your favorite funny book joint (or email them… even better!) and request a copy. This is the FINAL ISSUE of the MEANWHILE storyline! Masterfully crafted by our very own Donny Cates, lots of loose ends are tied up here in this blockbuster issue. And as you can tell on the front cover (created by KLC PRESS’s powerhouse creative director John J. Hill using elements from Geoff Shawn & Dee Cunniffe), BLOOD WILL BE SPILLED!
