DONNY TALKS FCBD HULK!
FCBD = Free Comic Book Day. FYI.
Happy Monday, and welcome to another themed week here at KLC Press! One of the big bosses here has at KLC Press has a Marvelous first issue coming out in the next few weeks starring this Green Skinned Goliath guy that no one’s really heard of…yet!
Here’s a mini podcast from Donny to kick things off, with a little cameo by our other fearless leader, Ryan Stegman!
Donny Cates: Yeah, Ryan Ottley and I... The other Ryan, that I hang out with who draws stuff, we put out an issue of Hulk for Free Comic Book Day. That is a complete and utter feint as to what that story's about. Really almost nothing in that Free Comic Book Day issue would actually lead you to know what our actual storyline's about... Which I know, on its face, seems like bad advertising. And even worse for me to say that, just, like, out loud like that. Because, like, what if you liked it? What if you hated it, and then you hated it so much that you didn't buy our Hulk run? Maybe, as I'm saying this out loud, that wasn't the right way to do that whole story. Nevertheless, it happened and that's what came out. But yeah, Smashtronaut. That part's real. That's really what it's called. Ryan Ottley and I are having a fucking blast on that book. It is easily the craziest stuff that I've ever done in a comic book. I wrote it for Ryan Ottley. I've been writing it with a newfound fervor just to see how Ryan Ottley can draw stuff. Like, I just write stuff in there and just be like, "God, I wonder if he can pull that off". And I just put it in there. For all you Hulk fans out there, you're already all so mad at me, so there's not anything I can do to calm you down. Except to say that there's more to this story than that Free Comic Book Day little mini-story would lead you to believe. There's a lot to it. It's insane. It's real weird. It's out there. And I'm not getting rid of the stuff that Al did. I wanna make that really fucking clear. I'm not erasing Al. I would never do that in a million years. So, yeah, hang in there. It's gonna be real smashy, it's gonna be really fun. Until then, I'm Donny Cates. And that's been Hulk. *Winks and points at camera*
