Welcome back to Ryan Stegman’s new edu-series: STEGMAN SPEAKS, in which the man himself answers YOUR art questions. In this episode, Ryan takes a simple enough question from @abcbrooks on Twitter (and blows your mind with some amazing insight!):
“For @KLCPress and #STEGMANSPEAKS: How would I learn to draw perspective and proportions well?”

A great tip my perspective teacher taught me for proportions: the average room is baout 9 feet tal, but if you draw it as 10 feet, you have a way easier time placing characters and your horizon line. If the room is 10 feet tall, halfway down the wall is 5 feet. the seat of a chair is about 1.5 feet off the ground because thats about the average height of people's knees so they can sit in the chair easily. knowing those 3 things helped my storyboarding immensely.
