Hi Chain Gang,
We have an important update regarding KILL YOUR DARLINGS.
Due to a PRINTING ERROR, Kill Your Darlings #3 has had its release date moved back two weeks from tomorrow (11/22) to DECEMBER 6th.
The entire creative team was devastated when we received our advance copies last week, and found the covers were covered in a faint layer of leftover ink from a previous printing. As much as we didn’t want to delay the release of the book, we knew these covers were not up to our standards.
So we reached out to our partners at Image, Lunar, and the printer to make this right. New copies of the book are being printed and shipped out as we speak and should arrive in your local comic shop very soon for the new on-sale date of DECEMBER 6th.
SO WHAT WILL HAPPEN THIS NEW COMIC BOOK DAY?
Retailers were sent communication to destroy their damaged copies of Kill Your Darlings #3, however, we can’t guarantee that all shops received the message. So, there is a chance that when you walk into your LCS this week you will find copies of Kill Your Darlings #3, which may include the copies with the misprinted covers. Whether or not you pick those up is at the discretion of you and your comic shop. Of course, our preference is that you all have nice, clean, quality covers, which may not be available in your shop until December 6th.
WILL FUTURE ISSUES BE DELAYED?
Despite the printing mishaps that have befallen issue #3, issue #4 — and all forthcoming issues — will KEEP THEIR CURRENT RELEASE DATES. Which means Kill Your Darlings #4 is still set for a DECEMBER 20th release.
We are really excited to offer two issues in the same month, as we feel the cliffhanger ending at the end of issue #3 will leave you all wanting to read issue #4 as soon as possible. And now you’ll be able to just two weeks after issue #3 drops!
***
Thank you so much for all the support you all have shown Kill Your Darlings. We cannot wait for you all to read issue #3, and soon after, issue #4 — the big conclusion to ACT ONE of our horrifying epic.
Have a great rest of the week. Stay safe. Be kind.
Thanks,
Griffin, Ethan, Bob, and John
